HELP READY BANADAD SKI TRAIL FOR SNOW
Join us clearing and preparing the trail for this winter’s season. The clearing event is on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 8:30 am. We meet at the Poplar Creek Guest House, 11 Poplar Creek Drive, Gunflint Trail. We grab our provided lunches and carpool/hike to our clearing areas. Bring gloves, safety glasses, saws (we have some extras if you need equipment.) Bring warm work clothes.
The Banadad Trail, the BWCA’s only wilderness tracked ski trail, is a 41 km ski trail system completely maintained by volunteers. Most of the trail system is within the BWCA.
The Banadad Trail – a “classic, classic ski trail”
The Banadad Trail is the longest wilderness tracked ski trail in the BWCA. Used by over 1,000 Nordic skiers each season, the Banadad Trail provides a single tracked wilderness experience. Requiring only a MN Ski pass, skiers cross the Laurentian Divide on a gently sloping trail connecting the
Lower and Upper Gunflint trail systems. Free parking is available at both east and west trailheads.
